Visiting the V-Bar-V Heritage Site

For the latest information on hours and directions, visit www.redrockcountry.org, the site of the Coconino National Forest, Red Rock District.
The Heritage Site is only open Fridays through Mondays, from 9:30 to 3:30. (The site is closed on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Site hosts are there to ensure compliance.) Be sure to arrive no later than 2:30 since you will need to sign in at the Visitor Center and take the half-mile walk to the site. There is no admission fee, but a Red Rock Pass, or its equivalent, is required per vehicle for parking.
If you wish to observe the solar panel effects described in this study, you will need to time your visit for the afternoon. Below is a chart to help you plan your arrival. Be aware that the peak of the effect only lasts for 6-7 minutes, although the sun shaft and shadow lines are generally visible for about one hour. The times given below are when the effect is likely to begin. Do not forget to arrive at least one hour before these times to sign-in and walk to the site.
